Weeping Beech is a cultivar of Beech or Fagus, a
family which includes Oak & Chestnut. Weeping Beeches do not grow very
tall, but the sweeping branches enclose a large area, & some of the
branches put out roots when they reach the ground. The Trees may live for
200 years. Beech nuts are extremely nutricious, & were often fed to
Pigs. Celtic Altars have been found dedicated to the God Fagus.
